[plant morphology] Clematis
Perennial herbs. Stem erect, usually unbranched, glabrous, ca. 30-40 cm high, nodes distinct, purplish, upper scalelike, with a few pairs of leaflets. The stem apex is 4-leaf, opposite, broadly ovate, ovate or elliptic, 4-12 cm long and 2-6 cm wide, apex long pointed, base cuneate, margin coarsely serrated, tooth tip has a gland, leaf surface dark green, back light green, papery; petiole is about 10-15 mm long. Spike is terminal, single, 2-3 cm long, with 2-5 cm stalk below, opposite flowers, flowers bisexual; bracts are white Stamens 3, filaments linear, white, 4-5 mm long, base healed, attached to ovary abaxially, upper part separated, middle stamen without anther; ovary inferior, green, stigma truncate, sessile, drupe pear shaped, ca. 2 mm in diameter. It blooms in spring.
It grows in the shady and wet place of mountain forest. Distributed in Liaoning, Hebei, Shaanxi, Hunan, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangxi and other places.
