It is cool in nature and slightly bitter in taste.
[plant morphology] annual herb, 10-50cm high. Stems branched, branches weak, pink green. The leaves are alternate and slightly fleshy. The leaves at the lower part of the stem are ovate and climbing, 4-9cm long. The upper part is smaller and embracing the stem. It is green on the top and purplish red on the bottom. The inflorescence is 1-1.3cm in diameter, with long peduncle and 2-branched branches; the involucre is cylindrical, with 1-layer bracts, about the same length as the corolla; the flowers are tubular, red, bisexual. Achene cylindrical, 5-6 mm long, ribbed, white and soft. The flowering period is from spring to autumn.
