[plant morphology] Ficus crassifolia, also known as three dragon claws, Yaya wood, five finger peach, five finger dragon, five finger milk.
Shrubs or small trees. The twigs are hollow, and the whole plant is covered with gray villi. Leaves simple, alternate, papery, polytypic, oblong lanceolate, narrowly or broadly ovate, 8-25 cm long and 4-18 cm wide, apex acute or acuminate, base rounded or cordate, often 3-5-lobed, margin serrate or undulate, sometimes entire; stipules ovate lanceolate, 8-20 mm long. Inflorescences axillary in pairs, globose, basal bracts ovate lanceolate; flowers yellowish green; male flowers in inflorescence inner wall near top, pedunculate; sepals 4, purple, linear lanceolate; stamens 2 or 1; calyx of gall flower similar to male flower; ovary globose or ovate, style lateral, stigma funnel-shaped; female flower in another inflorescence, pedunculate or nearly sessile; sepals similar to male flower, but not pedunculate Narrower and lighter in color. Achene elliptic, with tuberculate protuberance.
It grows on hillsides, ravines and roadside shrubs. It is distributed in the South and southwest of China.
