Herbs perennial, less than 30 cm tall. The root is tufted and the surface is light brown yellow. Basal leaves thick, nearly leathery, broad ovate, 3-5cm long, 1.5-2.5cm wide, apex pointed, base rounded, extending into a narrow wing, leaf margin sparsely spiny teeth, upper green, sparsely white coarse hair, lower gray green, densely white hairy, petiole 3-8cm long; stem leaves alternate, linear, about 13mm long, head arranged densely, attached to one side of flower stem; involucre purplish red Achenes linear oblanceolate, light brown, corolla light brown. It blooms in winter.
Born on hillside and wasteland. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou and other places.
