[plant morphology] gesneria cirrhosa
Herbs perennial, ca. 30 cm tall. The rhizome is thick and short with dark brown surface. The leaf blade is ovoid to rhombic, fleshy, apex acute, base gradually narrow, margin serrulate, dark green above, densely covered with brown long filamentous hairs below; the petiole is wide and thin, densely covered with brown long filamentous hairs, 2.5-3 cm long and 2 cm wide. Cyme, terminal; stem several branches from the foliage, purple black, covered with brown tomentose; corolla cylindric campanulate, 5-lobed, sky blue. Capsule.
Born on the hillside beside the rock. Distributed in Tibet and other places.

[flavor] sweet and bitter, cold.
Functions and indications: clearing away heat and toxin, strengthening kidney and stopping bleeding. The solution of wild vegetables, meat and Aconitum poisoning. Treatment of febrile diarrhea, impotence, premature ejaculation, menstrual disorders, leucorrhea.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-3 yuan.
