[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-2 Liang.
[clinical application] treatment of chronic tracheitis
The clinical observation was carried out by using the whole herb of Eupatorium lindleyanum and its extracts flavonoids and alkaloids: 79 cases in the flavonoids group, 97 cases in the alkaloids group, 94 cases in the flavonoids and alkaloids mixed group, and 154 cases in the whole herb group. The dosage of each group was equivalent to 2 taels of crude drug per day, processed into various tablets, 3 times a day, 3 tablets per time, 10 days as a course of treatment, two consecutive courses. Results the total effective rate of each group was 78.7-85.5%, the near control and marked effective rate was 31.7-46.6%, and the mixed group was the best. The antitussive effect was the best, expectorant was the second, and antiasthmatic was the worst. In practice, it was observed that the curative effect of short course of disease was higher, and with the extension of the course of disease, the curative effect gradually decreased. For patients with emphysema, the curative effect seems to be lower than that without complications, but there is no statistical difference. The effective rate and near control markedly effective rate of two courses were significantly higher than those of one course. The side effects were mild dry mouth, epigastric discomfort, dizziness, etc., which were more obvious in the whole herb group, but they could disappear without affecting the continued medication. The results of routine examination of liver function and urine showed no significant changes in some patients before and after treatment. It was found that yemazhui had the effect of reducing blood pressure. For patients with hypertension, it could achieve certain therapeutic effect at the same time. For patients with normal blood pressure, it only showed fluctuations within the normal range, and no one had symptoms of hypotension.
