Epiphytic shrubs. Stem creeping, rooting everywhere, with branches. The leaves are ovate elliptic, thick leathery, 2.5-6 cm long and 1-2.2 cm wide, apex obtuse, base rounded or broadly cuneate, margin with sparse shallow teeth and erythema below. Cyme, with long peduncle; flowers dispersed; bracts oblanceolate, leathery; calyx tube short, campanulate, 5-lobed, lobes narrowly lanceolate; corolla tubular, purple, inflated above middle, apex 2-lipped, lobes apex rounded. Capsule linear, 7-10 cm long, 2-valved at maturity. The seeds are small and brown.

Born on wet rock.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 0.3-1 Liang; or soaking in wine. External use: stir fry or wash with water.

[prescription selection] 1. To treat cold, wind and fever: one or two of the cowpeas. Take it in boiling water. If postpartum abdominal pain, with wine stew service.

② Treatment of cough and asthma or wind cold cough: rock cowpea one or two. Take it in boiling water. If the kidney is weak, stew meat; if you are tired, take wine.

[clinical application] ① treatment of chronic tracheitis

Take 3 liang of fresh products, wash and chop them, fry them in water for 2 times, filter them, concentrate the filtrate into 60 ml, and take them separately for 2 times; or make them into extract tablets according to the daily dose of crude drugs for each person, 6 tablets each time, 3 times a day. They were taken after meals, 10 days as a course of treatment, with an interval of 1-7 days. After two courses of treatment, 215 cases (27.4%) were controlled and 287 cases (36.6%) were markedly effective. According to the observation, this product has the best antitussive effect, followed by expectorant and antiasthmatic effect; the most effective time is 3-5 days, individual cases take effect after 10 days, with less side effects, occasionally mild dry mouth, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue, lip numbness, and lower limb edema; patients with stomachache can cause stomachache. Generally, the drug does not need to be stopped, and can be treated symptomatically.

② Treatment of leptospirosis

Take 2 liang of dried Eupatorium adenophorum and 5 yuan of Lysimachia christinae, add 600 ml of water, fry to about 300 ml, take separately in the morning and evening, or concentrate to 60 ml, take separately three times a day. After treatment, 20 cases, mostly short course of disease, bleeding phenomenon is not serious patients, were cured. Generally, the symptoms were relieved on the second day after taking the medicine. The jaundice disappeared in 4-5 days, 8 days at the latest; jaundice began to subside in 3 days and disappeared in 6 days. There is no need to add symptomatic drugs during treatment.
