[source] Dalbergia odorifera, a leguminous plant DalbergiaodoriferaT.Chen Heartwood of trunk and root.
[plant morphology] arbor. Young part, inflorescence and ovary slightly pubescent; bark brown, rough; branchlets nearly smooth, with dense pale lenticels. Leaflets 9-13, subleathery, ovate or elliptic, basal leaflets smaller, broadly ovate, lateral veins and reticulate veins slightly raised on both sides. Panicle axillary; calyx campanulate, 5-lobed, upper 2-lobed, teeth short and broad; corolla butterfly shaped, light yellow or milky white, each petal nearly equal, clawed; stamens 9, 1 group; ovary narrowly elliptic, with a stalk about 2.5mm long. The pods are ligulate, oblong, 4.5-8 cm long, 1.5-1.8 cm wide and 5-10 mm long. The seeds are usually one and sparse two. The flowering period is from April to June.
It grows in the hillside sparse forest, forest edge or village side in the middle altitude area. It is produced in Hainan.
