Deciduous climbing vines. The stem is densely covered with reddish brown coarse hairs; the tendrils are short and branched, spiral, with a round sucker at the top. Leaves opposite tendrils; leaves palmate, 3 leaflets; middle leaflets obovate to broadly lanceolate ovate, 6-12 cm long, 2-7 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, lateral leaflets obliquely ovate, slightly small, margin acutely serrate, glabrous on both sides or pubescent on lower veins; petiole 3-12 cm long. Inflorescence oblong with 5 stamens; inflorescences yellow or 5-lobed; stamens 5-lobed, sometimes bisexual. Berries globose, dark brown when ripe.
Born on the hillside. It is distributed in Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.
