[source] it is the flower and fruit of Syringa caryophylla.
[plant morphology] Syringa cinnamomi, also known as medium-sized Syringa yunnanensis.
Perennial shrubs. Stem erect, 2-4 m high. Leaves opposite, long obovate, long elliptic, 7-17 cm long, 1.5-5.5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, entire or slightly undulate, green above, glabrous below, pink green below, only midrib pubescent. Terminal corymbose panicle with white to rose red flowers; calyx huaike, margin 5-lobed, lobes oblanceolate, ca. 1.3 cm long, leaflike; corolla pedunculate, 5-lobed, lobes spreading, ca. 3 cm in diameter, tube 3 cm long; stamens 5; ovary inferior, 2-locular. Capsule ovate, ca. 2 cm long, woody, terminal persistent cup-shaped disk. The seed has wings.
It grows in the mixed wood forest on the hillside. It is distributed in Yunnan and Guangxi.
