[plant morphology] Rabdosia lineata
Perennial herbs, 60-80 cm high. Stem erect, square, branched, slightly hairy. Leaves opposite, papery, with yellow juice; ovate to ovate elliptic. 3-9 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, apex short pointed, base broadly cuneate, margin coarsely serrate, covered with sparse short hairs above, glabrous below, with reddish brown glandular dots; stipitate. The flowers are small, light purple, integrated into cymes and then arranged into axillary panicles; calyx bell shaped, 5-toothed, 2-lipped, enlarged when bearing fruit, with reddish brown glandular dots and sparse short hairs outside; corolla 2-lipped, upper lip short, with lobes 4, wide and reflexed, lower lip boat shaped, entire, longer than upper lip; stamens 4, 2-long, 2-Short, extending out of corolla tube. The fruit consists of four nutlets, which are hidden in the base of calyx. The flowering period is from May to October.
It is cultivated in Guangzhou. It is distributed in the middle, South and southwest of China.
