[plant morphology] Cornus officinalis
Shrubs or small trees, the whole plant has fragrance. Stem brown, with white punctate lenticels, odd pinnate compound leaves opposite; leaflets 5-9, 5-14 cm long, 1-4 cm wide, ovate or elliptic lanceolate, apex acute, base cuneate or oblique, entire; petiole 0.3-0.6 cm long. Flowers are terminal cymes arranged in panicles. The fruit is composed of 4 leathery and dehiscent carpels, about 2.5 mm in diameter, with obvious glands on the surface.
It grows on the hillside and the edge of bamboo forest. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi and other places.
