Herbs perennial, 20-30 cm high, all glabrous and smooth. The fibrous roots are dark brown. Stems solitary or several tufted, unbranched. Leaves 2, opposite at base of stem; elliptic, 4-5 cm long. Margin entire, apex obtuse, base tapering into a stalk. The flowers usually have 3 terminal flowers, with a pair of oblong involucral bracts under them; sepals 5; petals nearly 5-lobed, blue purple, lobes oblong lanceolate, with 2 glands near the base of each lobe. Capsule with many seeds.
Born in alpine grassland. It is distributed in Shaanxi, Yunnan and other places.
They were collected in autumn.
