[alias] Huang Ma Ji Hua, Bai Bu Cao.
[source] it is the tuberous root of Aconitum coreanum (Levl.) raipaics.
[plant morphology] perennial herb, 50-120cm high. Stem erect, simple, sparsely retroflexed pubescent. The leaves are alternate, palmately 3-5-lobed, and the final lobes are linear. Raceme terminal, densely retroflexed puberulent; sepals 5, pale yellow, outside densely puberulent, upper sepals galeate; petals 2, spur very short; stamens numerous; pistils 3, densely white puberulent. Bony fruit 3, Tricholoma smaller. The flowering period is August to September and the fruiting period is October.
It grows in shrub or grass on hillside. It is mainly produced in Liaoning and Jilin.
[harvesting] in autumn, the fine roots are removed and dried in the sun.
[traits] the female root is long and round, 5-10cm long, 0.6-1.3cm in diameter, with grayish brown surface, longitudinal wrinkles, furrows and root marks with long transverse protuberances, and stem base at the top. The root is oval or oval, 1.5-3.5cm long, 0.6-2cm in diameter, brownish yellow on the surface, with fine longitudinal lines and bud marks on the top. It is hard, white and powdery in cross section, with star shaped ducts in the central column. Qi is weak and pungent.
[chemical constituents] it contains hypaconitine and Guan Fu base a-h.
It is pungent, sweet, warm and poisonous. It belongs to liver, stomach and lung meridians.
[function and indications] dispelling symptoms, resolving phlegm and drying dampness. It can be used for apoplectic phlegm, mouth and eye deviation, head wind, wind phlegm vertigo, phlegm headache, external treatment of scabies, wind sores, Yin itching.
[usage and dosage] 1.5-4.5g. Generally used after processing, more into the pill powder; external use of raw product amount, research and coating the affected area.
[note] pregnant women should use it with caution. The internal use of raw products should be cautious.
[storage] store in a well ventilated and dry place to prevent moths.
