[plant morphology] Pinus tabulaeformis
Deciduous trees. It is usually formed from the root and protrudes from the ground. In winter, lateral branchlets and leaves are carved down together. The leaves on vegetative branches are flat linear or needle shaped and slightly curved, about 1 cm long, arranged in three rows; the leaves on fruit branches are overlapped in scales; the leaves are bright green in spring and summer, and turn brown in autumn. Monoecious, male and female cones on the same branch or on adjacent branches. Cones erect, terminal, ovate or oblong, 1-2 cm long; scales about 20, woody, long, exfoliative. The seeds are ovate, 0.5-1 cm long, with thin seed coat and axe shaped wings at the apex. The flowering period is summer and autumn.
It grows on the riverside and near the water. Distributed in Guangdong, Fujian and other places.
