Epiphytic herbs perennial, ca. 20 cm tall. Rhizome transverse, nodal, with clusters of yellowish brown fine fibrous roots under nodes. The leaves are thick, fleshy, hollow, succulent, dark green, apex obtuse, 15-20 cm long, 0.5-0.8 cm wide and 0.3 cm thick, with sheath embracing stem at the base. Raceme about 5 cm long, terminal or between leaf axils, with 1-4 flowers; flowers small, 12 mm long, orange yellow. Capsule small, angulate, with many seeds. It blooms in summer.
