[plant morphology] trifoliate climbing vine, also known as Cayratia japonica, trifoliate green and stone mouse.

Climbing vines. The roots are stout, spindle or agglomerate, and connected with each other. The stem is thin and weak, rooting on the lower node. Leaves alternate; palmate compound leaves, 3 leaflets, narrowly elliptic to ovate elliptic, 1 larger in the center, 3-7 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, apex pointed or short pointed, base gradually narrowed, margin with spiny sparse teeth, both leaflets smaller, asymmetric, 2-4 cm long, 1.3-2 cm wide; petiole 3-5 mm long, total petiole 2-4 cm long; tendrils opposite leaves, with sucker. Flowers heterozygous; umbels axillary; petals 4, open, disk connate with ovary base; pistil 1, stigma 4, deeply lobed. Small berry, globose. Seeds ovoid globose.

Born in the wild. It is distributed in Hubei, Jiangxi, Fujian and southwest China.
