Perennial herbs, 60-90 cm high. The basal leaves are linear, oblong, about 30 cm long and 1.5-2 cm wide, entire, apex acuminate, base extending down to petiole, wing shaped; the leaves on the flower stem are alternate, sessile, narrowly lanceolate or linear.
