Perennial herbs, 60-90 cm high. The basal leaves are linear, oblong, about 30 cm long and 1.5-2 cm wide, entire, apex acuminate, base extending down to petiole, wing shaped; the leaves on the flower stem are alternate, sessile, narrowly lanceolate or linear. The head inflorescence is extracted from the leaf axils of the top of the flower stem, with long stalks and several arranged in corymbose shape; the involucre of each head is about 1.3 cm long, cylindrical, with long lanceolate bracts, sharp apex and black stripes on the back; the inflorescence is full of ligulate flowers, with more than 10 flowers, yellow corolla, flat apex of the tongue and pentadentate cleft. Achenes oblong with pale brown hairs at the top. The flowering period is September.
