Climbing vines, several meters long. Branchlets gray, lenticels distinct. The cuticle of stem is rough and easy to fall off. The leaves are simple, alternate, leathery, broad ovate or oblong, 8.5-11 cm long and 5.5-6.5 cm wide, with coarse teeth on the margin. Flowers small, variegated, greenish yellow, panicle terminal; calyx 5-lobed; petals 5-spreading; stamens 6, inserted on the edge of disk; ovary superior; style short, stigma 3-lobed. Capsule, subglobose, 3-valved; seeds with orange pseudotesta.
In broad-leaved forests or shrubs. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi and other places.
