Inflorescence panicle like raceme, flowers small, white or yellowish, on the same bouquet, with short stalks; calyx campanulate, 5-toothed, ca. 5 mm long, covered with golden yellow pubescence with stalks; petals 5, lanceolate; stamens 10, separated, anthers ovate; ovary sessile. The seed is bright red, bright, broad ovate, about 5.5-8 mm long, and the petiole is attached at one end. The flowering period is from June to July. The fruit period is from August to September.
It grows in forests or shady hillsides and streams, and also in gardens. It is distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and even the eastern Himalayas.
