[plant morphology] Gypsophila rigida, also known as Gypsophila rigida.
Perennial herbs. Rhizome thick short, essence, transverse. The culms are transverse, sparsely tufted, 15-50 cm high, oblate cylindrical, with thick base and old leaf sheaths. Leaves shorter than culm, linear, 5-13 cm long, 2-3 mm wide, both sides are pubescent, gray green. There are 3-5 leaflike bracts, shorter than inflorescence; cymes reappear, spikelets are single at the top of radial branches, ovate or elliptic, blunt or acute at the top; scales are closely arranged, reddish brown, with many veins on the back, 2 scales at the base, no flowers inside, smaller than those with flowers; stamens are 3, anthers are linear; style is long and flat, base is slightly thick, stigma is 20, nut is wide, obovate, milky white The surface has fine hexagonal reticulation. The flowering and fruiting period is from April to June.
It grows on hillside, roadside, grassland, wasteland or under forest. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangdong, etc.
