Annual herb, 30-60 cm high. Stem erect or oblique, branched, angulate. Single leaf alternate; membranous; leaf blade lanceolate or elliptic lanceolate, 4-7 cm long, entire, base extended into narrow wings, light green below, with purple spots and pubescence, edge with glands. Raceme terminal, flowers sparsely arranged; bracts linear or subulate; calyx 5-lobed, lobes lanceolate or elliptic lanceolate, margin white; corolla white, 5-lobed, lobes obovate; stamens 5-lobed, anthers suborbicular or elliptic; ovary superior, spherical, style protruding out of corolla. Capsule, globose, brown. Seeds small, ovate, brown. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit period is from June to August.
It grows in the grass on the hillside of low mountain area and the wet place on the roadside. It is distributed in Sichuan and other places.
