[chemical constituents] the leaves and stems contain Taraxacum acetate and β - sitosterol.
[pharmacological action] the decoction of leaves and stems had mild excitatory effect on isolated ileum of guinea pigs, but had no significant effect on isolated uterus of rats, rectus abdominis of toads, perfusion of hind limbs of rats and blood pressure of anesthetized dogs (0.1 g / kg intravenous injection). The above-mentioned decoction was not toxic to mice when injected intraperitoneally (two mice were given 1g / mouse, and only one died within 24 hours). It can be regarded as non-toxic to people.
