[plant morphology] Chaetomium villosum

Shrubs, many branched, branches densely covered with yellow, spreading coarse hairs. Leaves alternate, ovate or ovate lanceolate, 4-5 cm long, rarely 7 cm wide, 1.5-3.5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, both sides coarsely hairy, veins densely yellow hairy; petioles short, densely yellow hairy; stipules conical. Flowers unisexual, male flowers bunched in leaf axils, shortly petiolate; sepals 6, oblong, slightly obtuse, ca. 2 mm long, outside coarsely hairy; anthers 3. Female flowers sessile and usually solitary, ovary 5-locular, coarsely hairy, style short, oblong, erect and glued. Capsule oblate, apically compressed, coarsely hairy, 8-10 mm in diam. The flowering period is April.

Born in the mountains. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi and other places.
