Dense clumps, dark green with yellowish brown, 4-10 cm high. The stem is erect, slender and branched, with many orders. The leaves are dense, curly when dry, erect when wet, long and narrow lanceolate, entire, involute; the middle rib is single, slender, and the apex protrudes from the leaf tip. Monoecious. Capsule stalk yellow, erect when dry, curved when wet. Capsule ovate, with short platform, 8 dark longitudinal lines. Capsule cap discoid, long beaked. Capsule cap cucullate.
It grows in the cliff, cave or crevice of high mountain. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi and other places.
