[plant morphology]: deciduous shrub, covered with short hairs and inverted prickles. Three compound leaves alternate, apical leaflets larger, broad obovate or suborbicular, 2.5-5cm long, 2-5cm wide, margin irregularly serrated, sparsely long hairy above, densely white tomentose below; calyx 5-lobed, villous or spiny; petals 5, pink, obovate; stamens numerous; carpels numerous, separated, on raised receptacle. The aggregate fruit is spherical and red when ripe. The flowering period is from May to June and the fruiting period is from July to August.

[growing place]: it grows on hillside, roadside, wasteland, shrub and grass. It is distributed in East China, Central South China, Sichuan, Hebei, Shanxi and Shaanxi.
