Herbs perennial, 6.5-15 cm high, all smooth. The rhizome is short, the fine root is strip, light yellow. The stem rises obliquely from the foliage and usually has 3-5 branches. The basal leaves are rosette shaped, lanceolate, 5-8 cm long, slightly fleshy, with indistinct 3-veined, entire, sessile; the stem leaves are lanceolate, 2.2-4 cm long, the lowest leaves less than 1.5 cm long, with short sheath at the base. Flowers 3-7, clustered on the top of stem; calyx tube 5-lobed, linear lanceolate; corolla bell shaped, light purple blue, 5-lobed, corolla fold triangular, symmetrical; stamen 5, attached to corolla tube; ovary superior, one locule, ovules extremely numerous, stigma 2, subsessile. Capsule narrow and long, 2-valved at maturity. The flowering period is from September to October. The fruit period is from October to November.
It is distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong and Guangxi.

Functions and indications: clearing away heat and toxin, diuresis and improving eyesight. Treatment of suppurative osteomyelitis, urinary tract infection, conjunctivitis, furuncle, carbuncle.
Usage: Decoction and dosage: 2 ~ 5. External use: tamping.
