Kunming Dula

[source] it is the tuberous root of Aconitum KUNMINGENSE (Ranunculaceae).
[plant morphology] Aconitum KUNMINGENSE
herbaceous. 2 tuberous roots, 2.5-7 cm long. Stems twining, 3-4 m long, sparsely retroflexed puberulent or almost glabrous. Leaves alternate, 5-10 cm long, 7-10 cm wide, 3-lobed or nearly basal, central lobe broadly rhombic, apex acute, 2-lobed, 2-lobed, with sparse lobules and teeth, sparsely pubescence above. Inflorescence conic, with 3-6 flowers; inflorescence axis and pedicel densely recurved yellowish puberulent; pedicel 2-4 cm long; bracteoles narrow strip; flowers 2.8-3.4 cm long; sepals 5, purplish blue, densely puberulent outside, upper sepal high galeate; petals 2; carpels 5. The inner suture of follicle is dehiscent, with many seeds inside.
It grows in the mountain bush. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan.
[collection] in autumn and winter, the stumps and fibrous roots were removed, boiled in boiling water for 4 hours, or soaked in lime for 7 days, bleached in water for 3 days, and then taken out to dry.
[processing] soak Aconitum carmichaeli in the decocting juice of licorice and black beans and ginger juice until the heart is clear, take it out, steam it for 12 hours, take it out and dry it in the sun.
