[source] it is the diseased spike of millet infected with Gramineae.
[collection] corn is harvested in autumn and dried in the sun.
[medicinal material] the diseased spike is mink tailed. The glumes developed into abnormal phyllodes, mostly not solid or with a few grains. When rubbed by hand, brown powdery oospores can be scattered.
It is often found in North China, Northeast China and Northwest China where corn is grown.
[flavor] salty, slightly cold.
Functions and indications: clearing dampness and heat, promoting urination and stopping dysentery. Treat urethritis, dysentery, edema, adverse urination.
[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 3-5 yuan.
[prescription selection] ① for urethritis, astringent and painful urination: Bran grain laowuqian, fried in water.
② Treatment of body deficiency, edema, upset, thirst, less urine: Bran grain old five money, water decoction.
