Herbaceous perennial, 10-20 cm high. Rhizome short, erect, densely covered with long and narrow scales, scales brownish black, apex caudate. Leaves tufted, petiole 1.5-3 cm long, dark brown, densely covered with narrow scales; leaves linear lanceolate, 10-20 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, narrower at both ends, 2-pinnate, 15-28 pairs of pinnae, short petiole, oblong lanceolate, horizontally expanded, 0.5-2.5 cm long, pinnae deeply split, 3-6 pairs of lobes, oblong, margin with obtuse teeth, glabrous above and below, veins not obvious, each tooth is smooth 1 veinlet. Sporangia linear, brown, along the veinlets.
Born on the wet stone in the mountains. It is distributed in Southwest China.
