Loquat seed
(Ben Jing Feng Yuan)
[source] it is the seed of loquat, a Rosaceae plant. For plant morphology, please refer to "loquat".
[chemical constituents] the seeds contain amygdalin, waxy alcohol, amino acids: 4-methylene-dl-proline, trans-4-hydroxymethyl-d-proline, cis-4-hydroxymethyl-proline, fatty acids and sterols. It also contains starch and free hydrocyanic acid.
Bitter and smooth.

Functions and indications: Resolving Phlegm and relieving cough, soothing liver and regulating qi. For cough, hernia, edema and scrofula.

[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 2-3 yuan. External use: grind and apply.
