Grey leaf
Subshrub, 30-60 cm high, base woody. Stem cylindrical, suberect, much branched, young branches densely pilose. Leaves alternate, odd pinnate compound leaves, leaflets 9-17; leaflets narrowly oblanceolate, about 2 cm long, about 0.5 cm wide, apex obtuse or slightly concave and small sharp, lateral veins numerous and dense, with short silky hairs with luster below; stipules linear conic. Raceme terminal or opposite to leaves; calyx teeth longer than calyx tube, lobes triangular conic; corolla lavender, flagellum covered with silky hairs. Pods 5 cm long, slightly curved, glabrous or sparsely hairy, with 6-10 seeds. The flowering period is July.
Born in the village, roadside, wilderness, Riverside grass. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Fujian, Taiwan and other places.

[pharmacological action] the extract of whole herb has no anti-tumor effect on Schwartz leukemia (ascites type) transplanted into (intraperitoneal injection) mice. The root contains rotenone, so it can be used to poison fish, but its insecticidal effect is quite low.
