[source] it is the root of Aconitum stylosum (Ranunculaceae).
[plant morphology] Aconitum stylosum
Perennial herbs. The root is massive, slightly inclined, dark brown, with many fibrous roots. Basal leaves 1-3, petiole 12-16 cm long, smooth, glabrous, purplish red, base extended: leaf nearly round, 5-7 palmately divided, lobes base cuneate, apex with unequal notches, rounded teeth, tip with small convex tip; dark green above, with scattered yellow below, gray below, sparse yellow hairs on veins; stem leaves 3-5. Raceme, with many flowers; sepals 5, purple, upper sepals cylindric; petals 2; stamens numerous; carpels 3. Follicles 3, unequal in size.
It grows in the shady forest. It is distributed in Sichuan, Guizhou, Hubei and Shaanxi.
