[plant morphology] cut head Rubus, also known as Huangpao and laohupao (classified herbal medicine), yellow Hippophae rhamnoides.
Semi creeping shrub. Branchlets stout, spreading, apex curving, with indistinct edges, dense reddish brown curved hairs, spines stout and hooked. Leaflets 3, broad obovate to elliptic, 5-10 cm long, apex rounded or slightly concave, base cuneate, margin irregularly serrate, dark green above, brown hairs below; petiole 2-7 cm long; stipules linear. Panicle terminal or axillary; peduncle very short; flower diameter 8-12 mm; sepals 5, ovoid, apex short pointed, hairy outside; petals 5, obovate, larger than sepals, white; stamens 1-whorled; carpels with fine hairs, mature carpels mostly. Aggregate fruit globose, yellow, with many rugose drupes. The flowering period is March.
It grows on barren soil bank or mountain slope. It is distributed in Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.
