[plant morphology] Celastrus angustifolia
Evergreen climbing shrubs. It is easy to have adventitious roots. The branches and petioles were densely covered with rust colored cotton hairs. Branches spinulose or subunarmed. Leaves are usually lanceolate elliptic, 8-15 cm long, apex acuminate, base heart-shaped, margin irregularly entire or 3-5-lobed, serrated, smooth and dark green above, densely covered with rust colored cotton hairs below; stipules palmately divided into 4-6 lines. Corymbs axillary, flowers white, calyx retrorse, stamens 2-3 row, anthers with fascicular long hairs. Fruit oblate, red when ripe. It blooms at the end of spring.
