[plant morphology] Uncaria macrophylla
Climbing rattan, 12-15 m high. The branchlets are compressed, brown and coarsely hairy, with double hooks on each node, and coarsely hairy when the hooks are young. Leaves leathery, broadly elliptic or oblong, 10-16 cm long, 6-12 cm wide, apex acute, base. Stipules 2-lobed. The inflorescence is spherical, with single leaf axils, 4-4.5 cm in diameter at flowering, 3.5-6.5 cm in peduncle length, with brownish yellow coarse hairs; the flower is pale yellow, about 1.6 cm long, calyx tube long, 5-lobed; the Corolla is tubular, funnel-shaped, 5-lobed. Lobes imbricate; stamens 5; ovary inferior, fusiform, 2-locular. Capsule has long stalk, spindle shape, 1-1.5 Xia meters long, with coarse hair. It blooms in summer.
Growing in shrubbery or mixed forest. Distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong and other places.
