[plant morphology] fern
The plant is 15-30 cm high. Rhizome short, obliquely ascending. Petiole tufted, 10-30 cm long, glossy, brown chestnut with the axis, the lower part sparsely covered with lanceolate scales. The leaves are subcleathery, triangular oblong or triangular elliptic, 5-30 cm long and 4-15 cm wide, with three pinnate divisions. The pinnae are opposite, sessile, and the lowest pinnae are the largest. The base of the pinnae is extended downward to the pinnae and more deeply split. The apex is acuminate, and the back of the leaves is powdered. Sporangia are brown, membranous, round, continuous or confluent. Spores globose, tetrahedral, black or dark, verrucous.
Born in stone crevice. It is distributed in Southwest China, Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Hunan and Taiwan.
