[plant morphology] Celastrus KUNMINGENSIS
Perennial grass vines. The root is thick and fleshy. Stem covered with uniseriate hairs. The leaves are opposite, thin papery, ovate, oblong, 4-9 cm long, 2-4 cm wide at the base, apex short acuminate, lobed heart-shaped at the base, lobes round and introverted, pubescent on the top, densely veined on the top, pale white below, glabrous on the bottom, ciliary on the leaf margin, 3-4 lateral veins on each side, stipules leaflike, solitary in the axils, petiole 3-5 cm long. Corymbose cymes are axillary, with 10-20 flowers; calyx is hairy on the outside, with 20 basal glands on the inside; corolla is white or yellowish white, radially nearly bell shaped; accessory corolla is white, membranous cup-shaped. Follicles solitary, subspiniform, ca. 6. 5 cm long, ca. 1. 5 cm in diameter. Seed tip with white silky hair 1 cm long.
Growing on hillside grass, shrub or valley. It is distributed in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Guangxi.
