Perennial herbs, 15-20 cm high. The tuber is spherical. Leaf blade 1, halberd or heart-shaped, 5-8 cm long, green or lavender; 1 bulbil at the junction of leaf and petiole and 1 bulbil at the lower part of petiole. The fleshy inflorescence grows from the base, with a spathe outside, and the appendages of inflorescence axis are slender and exposed. It blooms in summer.

It grows in wet grass, on the edge of rocks and on steep stone walls. It is distributed in the provinces south of the Yangtze River.
