[plant morphology] dwarf wolfberry
Deciduous shrub, up to 6 m high. Leaflets 13-25, opposite, ovoid or oblong, 5-14.5 cm long, apex acuminate, base broadly cuneate or suborbicular, entire; petiole glabrous. Panicle terminal; flowers heterozygous, pendulous, bell shaped; sepals 6; male flowers with 6 stamens, synthetic monomer, residual degenerated carpels; female flowers with 6 sterile stamens, carpels 3, style obovate, oblong, without stigma. Berry cylindrical, slightly curved, 5-10 cm long, mature blue or blue purple, abdominal seam cracking. Seeds flat, oblong, black, ca. 1 cm long.
It grows on the slope of Yinshan Mountain or under the miscellaneous trees in the valley. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou and Jiangxi. Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Sichuan, Shaanxi, etc.
