Liana. Stems hollow, reddish brown in appearance; branchlets sparsely pubescent. Leaves opposite; elliptic, ca. 8.5 cm long, ca. 3.8 cm wide, apex acuminate to acute, base rounded or slightly truncate, entire or microwavy, upper green, smooth glabrous, lower gray white, densely covered with white pubescent, with golden glandular dots; petiole ca. 1 cm long. Flowers axillary, several pairs arranged in racemose; peduncle about 3 cm long, villous; bracts leaflike, long ovate, about 1.5 cm long, about 7 mm wide; corolla tube slender, divided into 2 lips, one lip large, 4-lobed, one lip small, ligulate; stamens 5, protruding, anthers T-shaped; style linear, stigma capitate, ovary inferior. Berry, globose, black.
Born in the mountains and forests. Distributed in Guizhou, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.
