[alias]: Geer flower, iron flower and five poisons.
[source]: it is the female root of Aconitum carmichaeli DEBX.
[harvesting]: from late June to late August, the seed roots, fibrous roots and sediment were removed and dried in the sun.
[character and taste]: the root is irregularly conic, slightly curved, with residual stem at the top, expanding to one side in the middle, 2-7.5cm in length and 1.2-2.5cm in diameter. The surface is brown or grayish brown, with traces of nodular lateral roots and subroots. It has solid quality, white or light grayish yellow cross section, and polygonal ring pattern of cambium. The Qi is weak, and the taste is pungent and numb. It is hot in nature, pungent and bitter in taste, and poisonous.
[plant morphology]: perennial herb. Stem erect, lower smooth glabrous, upper scattered a few appressed pilose. Leaves alternate, petiolate; leaves ovate, palmately 3-lobed, bilateral lobes 2-lobed, margin coarsely toothed or notched. Raceme terminal, inflorescence axis and floret ridge densely pubescent; flowers blue purple, sepals 5, upper sepals high galeate, 2-2.6cm high, lateral sepals 1.5-2CM long; petals 2, long claws, 0.1-0.3cm long; stamens many; carpels 3-5. There are 3-5 bony processes. The flowering period is from June to July and the fruiting period is from July to August.
[growing place]: growing on grass slope or shrub in mountain area. It is mainly produced in Sichuan and Shaanxi.
