History and culture
Place name source
Longwen town was called Longya in ancient times. First, there is a dragon tail in Shangcun and a dragon head at the entrance of the village. There is a cave in front of the dragon head, which looks like a dragon's teeth, so it is called Longya. First, there is longyabi mountain, 290 Zhang (966 meters) high and 206 Li in Zhou Dynasty. It is full of momentum and the pen is in the original shape. Longya is also located in this area. The five subordinate societies are Dongshan, Gangshang, kengwei, Jingxi and Hengkeng. In 1808, the governor of Jiaying Prefecture changed "Longya" to "Longwen".
Local legend
Longwen is composed of two small basins, which are similar to "water recession gourd". It is said that an immortal wandered around the world. When he passed by, he could not help but feel reluctant to part with the beautiful scenery of the clear water and mountains. He reached out and quietly dropped the gourd from his waist. So, from the map, Longwen looks like a gourd hanging upside down, water flowing mildly.
After a long time, a monk who traveled all over the world came here. At noon in summer, when the monk walked to a mountain pass, he suddenly felt the cool Chen Chen Chen coming from his side. He found the hidden underground gourd, a deep pool like a green hole. That night, uncle Tu gave the monk a dream: tell him that the Fengshui here is excellent, the people are kind and simple, and it is a good place for Jielu. So, a few years later, a Longya Temple rose near the Green Cave pool.
