Wang Luo (1921-1987), formerly known as Yayun, was deputy director of the Political Department of a PLA department and a native of Zhucheng city.
Wang Luo (1921-1987), formerly known as Yayun, was deputy director of the Political Department of a PLA department and a native of Zhucheng city. After graduating from junior high school in 1936, he taught in Dongguan junior primary school. After the July 7th incident, the school was closed down, and Wang Shucheng, his elder brother, carried out Anti Japanese and national salvation propaganda activities. In November 1937, he joined the Kuomintang guerrillas in Zhucheng county. He joined the revolution in January 1938. In order to consolidate the Anti Japanese national united front, he joined Cai Jinkang's department for political propaganda under the unified organization of the party. Later, because of the KMT's exclusion, he withdrew from the Cai Department and went south to Xuzhou to join the 667 regiment of the 112th division of the 57th army of the Northeast Army as a company secretary. He took advantage of his position to unite the soldiers and publicize Anti Japanese and national salvation. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1939 and engaged in underground work of the party. He took part in the defensive battle of Lianyungang, the night attack on Hefei's enemy airport, the blocking battle of Suqian and many other battles. In the same year, in the fierce battle of breaking the railway in Tengxian County, he was wounded by a bullet in his left leg. He dug out the shell and bandaged it and continued to fight. In September 1940, according to the instructions of the Shandong Branch of the CPC Central Committee, the Northeast Army was transferred to the headquarters of the 5th brigade of the 115th division of the Eighth Route Army as the secretary. Later, he served as secretary of the 115th division detachment and security officer of the political department; in 1944, he was transferred to Binhai detachment of Shandong military region as company commander and political instructor; in 1945, he took part in the campaign of liberation of Zhucheng. In 1947, he was transferred to the 110th regiment of the 13th column as the commander of the battalion and the chief of staff of the regiment. In September, he fought against Jiang's invasion of Jiaodong Peninsula. He personally went to the front positions to fight side by side with the soldiers and repeatedly repulsed the enemy's strong attacks. After the liberation of Jinan in 1948, he successively served as director and commissar of the Political Department of the military and Political University, deputy director of the Youth Department of the Political Department of the East China military region, youth director and organization director of the Political Department of the Jinan Military Region. During his tenure, he was strict with himself, lived a simple life and did not seek personal gain. In 1965, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League. He went abroad with the delegation and served as the deputy head of the delegation. He strictly observed the discipline of foreign affairs and handed over all the souvenirs to the public. In December 1975, he served as deputy director of the Political Department of the 67th army. In July 1978, he served as political adviser of Jinan Military Region. In July 1980, he retired as deputy military officer. He died in Jinan on November 5, 1987.
