Guo yinglu
Guo yinglu, male, Han nationality, born in Dingxiang, Shanxi Province on May 4, 1930, is a member of the Communist Party of China, an expert in urology and andrology, an academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, an honorary president of the first hospital of Peking University, an honorary director of the Institute of Urology of Peking University, director of the center for prevention and treatment of andrology of Peking University, director of the Training College of urologists of Peking University, and National Institute of Urology and andrology Professor, chief physician and doctoral supervisor of the first hospital of Peking University.
In 1956, Guo yinglu graduated from the medical department of Beijing Medical College; from 1956 to 1959, he was the chief physician of the first hospital of Peking University; in 1963, he graduated from the Department of Urology of Beijing Medical College; from 1963 to 1985, he was the deputy director of Urology of the first hospital of Beijing Medical College; from 1983 to 1983, he majored in transplantation research in McGill University Hospital of Canada; in 1985, he graduated from the Department of Urology of Beijing Medical College From 1992 to 1991, he successively served as the director, vice president and deputy director of the Department of Urology of the first hospital of Beijing Medical University; from 1992 to 1995, he served as the director of the Institute of Urology of Beijing Medical University; in 1995, he served as the director of the urology training center of Peking University; in 1999, he was elected as the academician of Chinese Academy of engineering; in 2000, he served as the director of the reproductive and genetic medical center of Peking University Hospital.

Achievements in scientific research
In 1982, Guo yinglu presided over the development of a prototype of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) in China, which was used in clinical treatment of kidney stones in 1984. In 1987, Guo yinglu initiated prone position for the treatment of ureteral calculi. in the 1980s, Guo yinglu was committed to the establishment and development of endourology in China. He took the lead in developing transurethral surgery, percutaneous nephroscopy, ureteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, hyperthermia of benign prostatic hyperplasia, laser, stent and other new technologies in China. In 1991, Guo yinglu established endourology and ESWL group. In 1995, Guo yinglu put forward the concept of three temperature stages of endothermic therapy, which clarified the international fuzzy concept and improved the efficacy and safety of related technologies. In 1995, Guo yinglu founded the andrology society of Chinese Medical Association. In 2005, Guo yinglu founded urology branch of Chinese Medical Association. In 2009, Guo yinglu established the national urological oncology research center and the urological oncology medical center of the Ministry of health. In 1992, Guo yinglu and Zhang Xinshi, then president of Yangming University and urology expert of Taiwan, pioneered the cross-strait medical exchanges, and jointly sponsored the global Chinese urology academic conference, which included the urology elites from both sides of the Strait and overseas. In August 2000, Guo yinglu put forward the idea of "opening up a Chinese language venue at the American urology annual meeting, which attracts the attention of urologists all over the world"; in 2006, the American urology annual meeting (AUA) officially set up a Chinese language venue for one day. according to the official website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in June 2020, Guo yinglu edited 32 books and more than 500 papers.

In 1995, the urology training center of Peking University was officially established (renamed as the urology training college of Peking University in 2004). Wu Jieping served as the honorary chairman of the center, and Guo yinglu served as the director of the center, responsible for the training and implementation of Urology surgeons in China. Guo yinglu, together with the authoritative urology experts in China at that time, set up a 10 member expert committee, which was responsible for compiling the training plan Write textbooks, design courses and teach in person. in 1997, the training center officially launched the "talent project", with one to two long-term training courses each year, each lasting 6-9 months, to train urology discipline leaders and business backbones for all parts of China. in 1999, the training center cooperated with China education television station to open "doctor's class". Personal life
In 1930, Guo yinglu was born into a peasant household. Because he was admitted to the Medical College of Peking University, his father became the pride of his hometown and came to Beijing to study at public expense. At that time, there were social unrest and frequent wars. The mother with heart disease lived hard with Guo yinglu. The mother and the son lost contact with their father and had to worry about their livelihood every day. There was no book to read and no school to go to. In order to change his food, young Guo yinglu had to dig canals every day. His hard life was not changed until 1942. Guo yinglu's father, Guo Shizhong, is the director of Surgery Department of Tianjin second hospital. He is upright, dedicated and respected, and Guo yinglu is deeply influenced. In 1951, Guo yinglu did not hesitate to apply for his father's alma mater, Department of medicine, Peking University School of medicine.
