Ma Jin

Ma Jin, born in Chongchuan District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province on May 7, 1988, is a former Chinese badminton player and now an assistant coach of mixed doubles of Chinese women's badminton team.

Early experience

Ma Jin began to practice badminton at the age of 8 and entered Jiangsu Sports School at the age of 12. But after only half a year of practice, the school gave her up. At the same time, Xing Rui, the coach of Jinan sports school, came to Jiangsu Province to select talents, fell in love with Ma Jin, and took her to Jinan team. In Jinan team, Ma Jin is outstanding. After two years of training with the team, he was selected into the Chinese national badminton youth team.

Sports career

In 2005, Ma Jin, who had been in the national youth team for two years, was finally promoted. As a temporary player of the second national team, he went abroad to participate in the Asian Badminton Championship for the first time. Here, Ma Jin was scolded by the coach every day because she often failed to meet the requirements of the coach and made mistakes from time to time. After the game, she was arranged to return to the youth team for training. All kinds of frustrations made her feel confused about her future. She once thought that if she could not enter the second team, she would go to school. However, she didn't expect much, but in December she received notice and was officially selected into the national second team.

During the second national team, he represented China in the 2006 World Youth Badminton Championships and won the women's Doubles Championship (with Wang Xiaoli) and the runner up of mixed teams. After the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he was promoted to the first national team.

In 2008, after the Beijing Olympic Games, Ma Jin, who had just been promoted to the national first team, replaced retired Gao Gu and became the new mixed doubles partner of veteran Zheng Bo. The new pair played in the China open in November for the first time. Before the competition, Ma Jin and Zheng Bo practiced together only two or three times, but they did not hinder their excellent performance on the field. In the two super series, China open and Hong Kong open, held at the end of the year, Zheng / MA were able to reach the top four, only defeated by teammates Xu Chen / Zhao Yunlei and Zhang Yawen / Xie Zhongbo respectively, without losing to any foreign players.

2009 is a good year for Ma Jin. In mixed doubles, she and veteran Zheng Bo's new and old combination are getting better and better. She not only won the first Super Series championship in the Swiss open in, but also won the Singapore super series, Indonesia super series and Malaysia Gold Grand Prix, runner up in the German open and China open, and made it into the top four in the all British Open. In women's doubles, she and Wang Xiaoli have also made great achievements. They also won the bronze medal in the World Badminton Championship held in India in the middle of the year. In 2012, in the mixed doubles competition of badminton in London Olympic Games, Ma Jin and Xu Chen teamed up and successfully entered the final. In the end, they lost to team mate Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei and won the second place of mixed doubles in 2012 London Olympic Games.

On the afternoon of April 24, 2016, Beijing time, the final of China Badminton Masters started. In the mixed doubles competition, Xu Chen / Ma Jin won Zheng Sihua / Chen dawn in two straight sets and won the first championship of the season.

On August 17, 2016, Xu Chen / Ma Jin lost to his teammates Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei in the mixed doubles bronze medal competition at the Rio Olympics in Brazil, and won the fourth place.

Announce retirement

On November 15, 2016, Ma Jin announced his retirement on Weibo. In 11 years of her national team career, she has won six world championships.
