Yangcheng County, belonging to Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province, East Branch of Taiyue mountains, northeast of Zhongtiao Mountain, west of Taihang Mountain and West Bank of the middle reaches of Qinhe river. Historical evolution
Yangcheng was known as Hongze in ancient times. In the legendary period of Yao, Shun and Xia, Yangcheng belonged to Jizhou, and Shang was the capital inland.

All rivers in Yangcheng County belong to the Yellow River system. From suoquanling in the west to sanpanshan in the East is the North-South watershed. To the north of the watershed are the Qinhe River, the reed river and the huoze river. Qin River is located in the east of the county, with a total length of 72 kilometers and a drainage area of 175 square kilometers; reed river is located in the north of the county, with a total length of 50 kilometers and a drainage area of 366 square kilometers; huoze river is located in the middle of the county, with a total length of 57 kilometers and a drainage area of 845 square kilometers.
