Wang Jinxi

Wang Jinxi (October 8, 1923 - November 15, 1970, 23:42) was born in chijinbao, Yumen County, Gansu Province (his ancestral home is Jiaojia village, qiangbai Town, Dali County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province). He is an oil worker in Daqing Oilfield, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, China.

Wang Jinxi was born in a poor family. After the liberation of Yumen, he became an oil worker in New China. He was known as "Iron Man" because he used his body to control the blowout.

In April 1970, Wang Jinxi was diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer. At 23:42 on November 15, 1970, Wang Jinxi died of gastric cancer due to ineffective treatment. He was 47 years old.

On September 10, 2009, he was elected as one of the "100 people who have moved China since the founding of new China".

On September 25, 2019, he was selected as "the most beautiful fighter".

Wang Jinxi: the iron man of new China's oil front

Wang Jinxi, a native of Yumen, Gansu Province, is one of the first batch of oil drilling workers in New China and a famous labor model in China. In 1938, 15-year-old Wang Jinxi joined Yumen oil company as a worker. After the founding of new China, he successively served as the drilling team leader of Yumen Oil Administration Bureau, the drilling team leader of Daqing Oilfield 1205, and the deputy commander of Daqing oilfield drilling headquarters. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1956. He led the 1205 drilling team to make arduous efforts to build the first oil well in Daqing and set a world drilling record with an annual footage of 100000 meters, showing the spirit of Daqing oil workers, making great contributions to China's oil industry and becoming a red flag of China's industrial front. Wang Jinxi is known as the iron man of the oil field for his tenacious will and great drive of "he would rather live less than 20 years and try his best to win the big oil field". In 1959, Wang Jinxi was awarded the title of national advanced producer at the national "Qunying meeting". Wang Jinxi is a member of the ninth CPC Central Committee and a deputy to the third National People's Congress.

In 1959, as a model worker on the oil front, he went to Beijing to participate in the Youth League meeting. When he saw a bus on the street with an air bag on its roof, he asked people strangely, "what's the matter with that guy?" people told him, "because there's no gasoline, there's no gas." This stabbed him like an awl. Wang Jinxi later said: "the gas bag on the bus in Beijing woke me up. I really felt the pressure of the country and the nation. All of a sudden, it fell on my shoulders." He said to his workers many times: "if a person has no blood, his heart will stop beating. There is no oil in industry. All those who fly in the sky, those who run on the ground and those who go up on the sea will be paralyzed. Without oil, the country has pressure. We should consciously bear the pressure for the country. This is the responsibility of our oil workers. "

In the spring of 1960, the good news came from China's oil front - the discovery of Daqing Oilfield, an unprecedented oil conference war immediately started in Daqing. Wang Jinxi led 1205 drilling team from Yumen Oilfield in Northwest China to join the oil war. Once in Daqing, there are many unimaginable difficulties in front of Wang Jinxi: there are no roads, there are not enough vehicles, and food and housing are all problems. However, Wang Jinxi and his colleagues are determined to win large oil fields with high speed and high level even in great difficulties. When the rig arrives, the crane is not enough. How can we unload dozens of tons of equipment from the truck? Wang Jinxi said: "we can't wait for a moment. We have to transport the rig to the well site even if it is carried by people. If there are conditions, we should go up. If there are no conditions, we should also go up. " They fought for three days and nights with rollers and crowbars, hands and shoulders. The 38 meter high and 22 ton derrick stood in the wilderness in the cold wind. This is the famous "man pull shoulder carry rig" in the history of the battle. It's time to start drilling, but the water pipe hasn't been connected yet. Wang Jinxi cheered and led the workers to the nearby water bubble to break the ice to get water. He just used washbasin buckets to bring 50 tons of water to the well site. After hard work, the first production well in Daqing Oilfield was drilled in only 5 days and 4 hours. In the face of many difficulties, Wang Jinxi led the whole team to "prefer to live less than 20 years, but also to win the big oil field" indomitable will and energetic, hard work for five days and five nights, hit the first oil injection well in Daqing. In the following 10 months, Wang Jinxi led the 1205 drilling team and 1202 drilling team to overcome many difficulties under extremely difficult circumstances, and both achieved the miracle of annual footage of 100000 meters. In those days, Wang Jinxi was seriously ill and could not go to the hospital. A few hundred jin drill pipe hurt his leg, so he continued to command with crutches. One day, there was a blowout, and there was no barite powder for well killing. Wang Jinxi immediately decided to replace it with cement. The bag of cement poured into the mud pool but could not be stirred. Wang Jinxi threw off his crutch and jumped into the waist deep mud pool. He stirred it with his body. The blowout was finally subdued, but Wang Jinxi was too tired to stand up. The landlady said painfully, "Captain Wang, you are a real iron man!" That's how the name "Iron Man" got around. Wang Tieren worked hard day and night for the development of the motherland's petroleum industry. He was exhausted and became ill. He died of gastric cancer in 1970 at the age of 47.

Wang Jinxi always considers national interests in his work. He attaches great importance to investigation and research, relies on the masses to speed up oilfield construction, works hard and thrifty to run enterprises. If there are conditions, if there are no conditions to create conditions, he should establish a responsibility system, be conscientious and responsible, and strictly control oilfield quality. The "Iron Man Spirit" and "Daqing experience" he left behind have become valuable wealth for China's socialist construction. In 1964, Chairman Mao called on the whole country to "learn from Daqing in industry".

In 1932, Ma Bufang was forced out of the wool factory. Wang Jinxi asked his father to sit on the ox cart and drive the wool to Jiuquan, a hundred miles away. In order to earn money to cure his father's illness, Wang Jinxi and several poor children went to the devil mountain, where tigers and wolves haunt and the climate is changeable, to herd cattle for the landlord. A few mu of Wang's land was occupied for a long time by the head of the district in the name of borrowing. Wang Jinxi was not afraid of power and went to ask for it. Although only a few Zhang Bai Tu Bu was returned, it was a victory for Wang Jinxi to fight against the evil forces. In order to avoid military service, Wang Jinxi panned for gold and oil. In 1938, Wang Jinxi worked as a child laborer in the old Yumen oil mine. Although he was young, he did the same heavy work as an adult and was often beaten and scolded by the foreman. However, he was unwilling to be humiliated and rose up to resist. Wang Jinxi was often punished for his resistance. When the master knew about it, he told him the story of camel "saving strength" and told him to pay attention to the methods of struggle and cultivate "Endurance". Wang Jinxi is full of yearning for a free life. It is this experience of suffering and bad living environment that refine his character of fortitude, tenacity and unyielding.

Early work

On September 25, 1949, Yumen was liberated. In the spring of 1950, Wang Jinxi passed the examination and became the first generation of drilling workers in New China. From the spring of 1950 to the autumn of 1953, Wang Jinxi had been working as a driller in Laojunmiao drilling brigade. He was diligent, hardworking and eager to do all kinds of chores. He said that the party regards us as the masters, and the masters can't work passively like long-term workers. Hard drilling practice has tempered his indomitable character and selfless advanced thought. On April 291956, Wang Jinxi joined the Communist Party of China with honor, which was a milestone in his life journey. Soon after joining the party, Wang Jinxi served as the leader of team 5 of Beiwu, and led team 5 to put forward the slogan of "thousands of months, thousands of years, setting a benchmark on Qilian Mountain" in the labor competition centered on "high quality and fast drilling" organized by the Ministry of petroleum industry, setting the highest drilling record of 5009.3 meters per month. In October, Wang Jinxi went to Karamay, Xinjiang to attend the on-site meeting held by the Ministry of petroleum industry. Minister Yu Qiuli and vice minister Kang Shien awarded him a red flag of "drilling satellite". Team Beiwu 5 was named "steel drilling team", and Wang Jinxi was known as "drilling intruder".

In September 1959, Wang Jinxi attended the model workers' meeting of Gansu Province and was selected as the representative of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China and the representative of the National Conference of outstanding workers in industrial relations. During the recess, Wang Jinxi visited the "top ten buildings" in the capital. When he passed the beach, he saw that the bus was carrying a "gas bag" and realized that the country was short of oil. He felt a great shame. This strong man from the northwest squatted on the beach and cried in the street near Beida Red Mansion. Since then, this "gas bag" has become the source of his ideological power to share his worries for the country and strive for the spirit of the nation.
