Zhu Fangyu
Zhu Fangyu, male, born on January 5, 1983 in Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is a Chinese professional basketball player. He is a small forward. He is nicknamed "Zhu 8" because his jersey number is 8. Now he is the general manager of Guangdong Hongyuan basketball club.
In September 1995, Zhu Fangyu was selected by Su Guopei, the coach of Sports School of Guangxi Autonomous Region, and trained him. In September 1998, Zhu Fangyu entered the Guangxi men's basketball team, entered the Guangdong Hongyuan youth team at the end of the same year, and was selected by the national youth team in December. In 1999, he became an official player of Guangdong Hongyuan, but at that time, he did not complete the transfer procedures and failed to register. In 2001, he was selected into the national team for the World University Games.
Zhu Fangyu's career is particularly brilliant, with the Guangdong team won eight CBA championship. As the core player of Guangdong team, Zhu Fangyu was elected MVP (2007-08, 2011-12) and fmvp (2004-05, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10) twice in CBA regular season, and was the first person in CBA in 20 years. In the battle with Liaoning on November 26, 2014, Zhu Fangyu scored 34 points, with a personal total score of more than 10000 points, becoming the first player in the history of CBA with a total score of more than 10000 points.
Zhu Fangyu also participated in three Olympic Games with the men's basketball team, including the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, helping the men's basketball team to enter the top eight of the Olympic Games; Zhu Fangyu also participated in the 2002 World Championships and the 2006 World Championships with the men's basketball team. On May 5, 2017, Guangdong Hongyuan men's basketball club announced the appointment of Zhu Fangyu as the general manager of Guangdong Hongyuan basketball club. On June 18, Zhu Fangyu officially announced his retirement.
On May 3, 2019, Zhu Fangyu won the CBA championship in 2018-19 season with Guangdong team as general manager.
Early experience
Since childhood, Zhu Fangyu has followed his father, who loves basketball, to haunt the field of amateur games. At that time, basketball was a very simple and easy sport in his eyes.
In September 1995, Su Guopei, the coach of Guangxi Sports School, went to Liuzhou sports school to select players and picked Zhu Fangyu. Su Jiaolian tested his bone age, and predicted that his height could reach 2 meters, which is a material for playing basketball, so he was trained. Physical fitness and basic skills and tactics together, so that he can grow up healthily.

Sports career
CBA period
In 1999, Zhu Fangyu became a full-time member of Hongyuan, but he was not allowed to register because he did not complete the transfer procedures.
In 1999-00 season, young Zhu Fangyu spent most of his time on the bench, averaging only 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. In 2001-02 season, Zhu Fangyu's data began to soar, averaging 23.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. In the game with Liaoning team, Zhu Fangyu hit 9 3-point goals in a single game, creating his personal single game record.
At the beginning of 2003-04 season, Zhu Fangyu and Guangdong team created a dynasty of eight years and seven Championships. This season, Zhu Fangyu and Du Feng led Guangdong team to win the first championship in the history of the team. In the 2004 All Star game, Zhu Fangyu also won his first 3-point championship.
In 2004-05 season, the Guangdong team miraculously defeated Jiangsu. Zhu Fangyu averaged 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the 2007 season. After Yi Jianlian left CBA, Zhu Fangyu became the new core of Guangdong Hongyuan team. Under his leadership, Hongyuan team beat Liaoning team 4-1 in the finals and regained the championship after a year's absence. Zhu Fangyu also won the MVP of the regular season and the MVP of the finals.
In the 2008-09 season, Zhu Fangyu averaged 22.2 points per game in the finals, taking the MVP of the finals for the third time and becoming the first person in the history of CBA.
In the 2009-10 season, Zhu Fangyu averaged 18.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in the finals, and contributed 29 points in the fifth game, helping Guangdong beat Xinjiang 4-1 to defend its title. He won the finals MVP for three consecutive seasons, which is also the fourth MVP in the history.
In 2011-12 season, Zhu Fangyu was elected MVP of regular season with 236 points, which is also the sixth time in his career that he won the title of most valuable player, which is unmatched in the history of CBA.
In the game between Guangdong and Zhejiang on December 30, 2011, although the team lost in the end, Zhu Fangyu hit three goals with nine three-point shots, which made his total number of three-point goals reach 1096, surpassing Li Nan's 1095, and promoted him to the new three-point champion of CBA.
On January 1, 2012, in the 19th CBA round, Guangdong played Jiangsu at home. On November 26, 2014, in the 11th round of CBA regular season, Liaoning team completed a 18 point reversal away from home, beating Guangdong team 116-112 in extra time. Zhu Fangyu scored 34 points, becoming the first Mr. ten thousand in CBA.
Career 1000 steals
On December 7, 2014, in the 16th round of CBA regular season, Guangdong reversed Shanghai 83-72 away. Zhu Fangyu contributed 2 steals and broke through 1000 steals in his career. The 1000 steals ranked third in the history of CBA. The defenders in front of Zhu Fangyu were Hu Xuefeng (1548 steals) and LV Xiaoming (1027 steals).
In addition to winning the title of best player for six times, Zhu Fangyu has been selected into the all star lineup for 13 consecutive times since the 2001-02 season, known as the "king of all stars".
