Early experience
Liao Changyong was born in an ordinary peasant family in Pidu District of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. His father died of illness when he was seven years old. When he was in middle school, Liao Changyong's third sister married to Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Western Sichuan, where he followed her to study.
In September 1988, he was admitted to the Vocal Music Department of Shanghai Conservatory of music and studied with Mr. Luo Wei. Later, he studied under Professor Zhou Xiaoyan, a famous vocal music educator.
He graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of music with a bachelor's degree in July 1993. As a result of excellent results, he was promoted to the master's degree of Professor Zhou Xiaoyan of Shanghai Conservatory of music without examination and continued to study from Professor Zhou Xiaoyan.
Acting experience
In 1994, he won the first prize in the national trials of "International Vocal Music Competition"; in the same year, he won the best French award of "Paris International Vocal Music Competition".
In September 1996, he went to France to participate in the 41st Toulouse International Vocal Competition and won the first prize of the competition.
In May 1997, he went to Tokyo to participate in the "Domingo world opera singing competition" and won the first prize; in the same year, he went to Norway to participate in the queen Songya International Vocal Competition and won the first prize.
From 1998 to 2004, he was awarded the title of "Art Star" of the first Shanghai International Art Festival, Shanghai New Long March raider, Shanghai first "top ten cultural newcomers", Shanghai labor model, national "May 1st" medal winner, national "artist of virtue and art".
